Code Enforcement

The mission of the Code Enforcement Office is to promote and maintain a desirable community in which to live and work, by administering a fair and unbiased enforcement of municipal codes and land use requirements.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Conduct building and property inspections

  • Act as the city Building Code Official in all aspects of permitting and enforcement

  • Issue Building Permits

  • Issue Municipal Permits

  • Ensure that land uses are in zoning compliance with the Franklin Zoning Ordinance

  • Address and accept Zoning Hearing applications

  • Serve as a member of the Historical Architectural Review Board

  • Work with and assist other public service agencies and city departments

  • Serve as the City of Franklin's Fair Housing Officer

  • Oversee the health inspection and licensing process
