City of Franklin Historic District

The City of Franklin has identified historic areas and structures for the purpose of protecting them. These historical areas and structures within the City of Franklin have a distinctive character, rich architectural and historical heritage of Pennsylvania and of the City of Franklin that make them a source of inspiration to our people by awakening interest in our historic past, and to promote the historic culture of Franklin. These structures are identified by the Franklin Historic Map and the City of Franklin Historic District Ordinance.

Any changes in the exterior of a building within the Historic District that are visible from a public street or way must be presented to the Historic and Architectural Review Board prior to any construction work being initiated.
