Hydrant Flushing
Hydrant flushing is the quick release of water from fire hydrants. It’s a controlled procedure that is vital to the general maintenance of the City’s water distribution system. It ensures adequate water flow is available to fire fighters, residents and businesses. It also helps maintain the City’s water clarity and quality by clearing iron and mineral deposits from the water mains (distribution pipes).
Fire Hydrant Flushing
City crews in the Franklin Water and Fire departments will be flushing fire hydrants in the Franklin and Rocky Grove area starting Monday, September 16, 2024. The work will be done between 7 a.m. and 3 p.m. each day. Residents who notice cloudy or discolored water during the flushing of hydrants should allow cold water to run until it clears up. We are sorry for any inconvenience this may bring to City residents, and we appreciate your patience while the work is being done.
